-----------------(White flag held high)----------------
Esteemed gentlemen and ladies, good people of Britain,
acknowledged motherland of my beloved country:
As a member of the American branches of the Byron
and Keats-Shelley organizations, and finding
shelter with the generous and kindly inhabitants of
the GMS community of Fooldom, I was disturbed by
rumors and rumors of rumors that reached my eyes
regarding a potential invasion. I had thought and
hoped that the political differences between our
respective countries which threaded back to long years
past, had been set aside in documented allied
friendship. Having correspondants in Great Britain
toward whom I harbor affection, having a portion of
what is left of my mind roaming hills and vales in
England's varied counties and villages, your planned
aggression seemed severely misplaced -- true error. Later I
had heard that your honored General mhowel had toured
the GMS community dispensing "luvvies" here and there
-- and I was heartened. I learned of conditions within
your camp and thought -- oh so FOOLishly! -- that in a
gesture of goodwill and diplomacy, I would venture
forth bearing gifts for your tea-time restoration.
Thus it was, I baked biscuits, and shortbread, and
scones -- and even managed crumpets. I procured
lemon curd and orange marmalade and clotted cream to
ensure a memorable tea...Alas, I discovered the
distributed "luvvies" were apparently a motive of
strategy. (Sigh) I am disappointed, yes,
heartfully disappointed! So injured is this lady, that
she gave the shortbread to the dogs, the clotted cream
to stray cats, crumbled the biscuits and scones for
the birds, spread out curd and marmalade for bees and
ants, and dined upon the crumpets herself. Your
short-term thinking has resulted in loss. Please
consider thy ways...This is an unofficial visit, and
I thank you for permitting me to speak. - MizBlue
